Ross J. Loomis, CFA

Ross serves as Chief Financial Officer and Director of AI at Evermay, providing financial insight and strategic support to help guide the firm’s continued growth. He oversees the financial reporting and analysis across Evermay’s wealth management and tax divisions, helping leadership evaluate opportunities related to growth, technology, operations, and other strategic initiatives.

As Director of AI, Ross leads Evermay’s thoughtful approach to artificial intelligence, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation while maintaining a strong focus on security, accuracy, client confidentiality, and compliance. He works closely with teams across the firm to evaluate new technologies and develop practical ways to responsibly incorporate AI into Evermay’s operations.

Ross also brings extensive investment experience to his role, having previously led Evermay’s research and trading efforts. His combination of financial, investment, and technology expertise allows him to support the firm’s strategic direction while helping Evermay continue to evolve in how it serves clients.

My Professional Background

Before joining Evermay, I spent over five years as a senior economist at RTI International, where I led economic research for government and commercial clients. Prior to my time at RTI International, I provided quantitative and qualitative analysis of stocks for Nicholas-Applegate’s International Growth Opportunities fund. I hold the CFA designation.

I graduated from Brown University, with a B.S. in Human Biology: Brain and Behavior and earned an M.A. in Economics from San Diego State University, where I was honored as the Outstanding Graduate Student.

My Personal Life

I currently reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with my wife, Caroline, our two daughters, Harper and Sam, and our pets, Charlie, our dog, Max, our rabbit, and Remy, our rat. I serve as the  Assistant Governor of the Virginia Beach Rotary Club, where I have been a member for over five years. I’m also the Treasurer of the Princess Anne Elementary School PTA.
